To provide ongoing education to ALCTS members and other interested individuals in the information industry about relevant standards and to actively promote member involvement in the standards development process in part by maintaining close relationships with the Section Executive Committees. To collect and share information regarding current and developing standards within the scope for ALCTS, and to provide assistance to and support for the NISO representative.
To fulfill this charge, the guide is designed as an aggregator, so that people from different ALCTS groups have a single place to go to find standards pertinent to their areas of work and/or study. The guide is organized by topic, so that standards for each group area are kept together. On the left-hand side, you will see that there is a tab for preservation standards, acquisition standards, and so on.
FUTURE GOALS AND FUNCTIONS OF THE GUIDE
We hope to update the guide regularly, so that all relevant standards for each area are present. The hope is that this guide will be a convenient, easy reference for standards from all areas, and that people will find it helpful to their work.
